  • REFUND POLICY

  • School Refund Policy

Any change or cancellation of program must be notified in writing to SGIC by the student. Under no circumstances are the application fees, homestay placement fees and registration fees refunded. If the student registered through an agent, then the refund must be collected from the agent, and SGIC is not responsible for additional charges incurred by the agent.

    Rejected Visa

If the student is refused a student visa by the Canadian Consulate in his/her country, the student is entitled to a full tuition fee refund minus the registration fee of $150 CND and the refund processing fee of $300 CND. Students must provide the original visa rejection letter from their local consulate and the refund will be processed within 45 business days. After the approval of a student visa by the Canadian Authorities, no refund will be made if the applicant does not come to college or does not study due to personal reasons. If the documented proof is presented on the student's start date, students are eligible for 60% refund, less the registration of $150 and processing fees of $300. If documented proof is presented after the student's start date no refund will be made.

    Cancellation of Programs

The student will be refunded all prepaid fees except for the registration fee of $150 and refund processing fee of $300, if the student cancels at least 4 weeks prior to the starting date of classes. Further, a refund of 60% of prepaid fees will be issues to the student (minus registration & processing fees), if the cancellation request is made between 30 to 1day before the scheduled start of classes. Finally, no refund will be issued after the scheduled star date. In the event that the student receives a promotional package (for example, discounted tuition fee, scholarship), 50% of prepaid fees will be issued to the student if a cancellation request is made at least 4 weeks prior to the scheduled start of class. No refund will be issues if a cancellation is made after such time.

    Homestay

All homestay fees excluding the placement fee of $150, will be refunded to the student only when the student provides written notice of a cancellation at least4 weeks prior to the homestay start date. If no written notice of cancellation is provided, the placement fee plus one month of the homestay fee will be withheld. Only the remaining balance after the above deductions can be refunded upon receipt of the student's written request. (Please see our refund policy at www.sgiccanada.com)
